Our bees do their work in the wildflower fields of Kirkwood, Windsor, Chenango Forks, and Conklin, NY.  They enjoy a low stress, uncrowded environment. We do not move our hives season to season – the flowers change around them.

Our bottled honey is ‘raw’ from the hive. Its wildflower flavor changes with the seasons.

Our small beekeeping business is in rural Broome County near Binghamton, New York.   Our beehives are scattered in open pastures, non-spray fruit orchards and along the banks of the Susquehanna and Chenango rivers.   This mix of locations gives them access to a variety of wildflowers which blend into unique local seasonal honeys.   We harvest at least three times each year to capture the spring, summer and fall wildflower blooms.

The fall “honey flow” is our largest crop.   It  features the dark sweet molasses flavor of aster flower, goldenrod and Japanese knotweed.   Every year is as different as the weather however.  Some years bring cascades of spring locust tree and summer basswood tree blooms, and in others years dandelion and small wildflower predominate until acres of goldenrod overrun the fields.

Our extracted honey is “raw” from the hive to the bottle.     No filtration, pasteurization or additives are used.   It is stored with the natural wax and gravity separated as it’s bottled. Our honey will crystallize with time but that does not harm its quality.

Always learning even after keeping bees for many years, Sue is on the board of the Southern Tier Beekeepers Association, and is a past treasurer of the Empire State Honey Producers (the NYS Bee Club), and teaches beekeeping classes.
